Does anyone else find Chicago tap water kills their starter? Switched to filtered and it bounced back in two days.

Chicago water has chloramine, not chlorine. You need to filter it or let it sit 24 hours.

A Brita filter works perfectly for this. My starter has been thriving since I switched.

You can also add a tiny pinch of vitamin C to neutralize chloramine instantly.
