Flatwounds vs roundwounds for funk?

I've been a roundwound player forever but thinking of trying flats. Anyone made the switch for funk playing?

I use LaBella Deep Talkin' flats. The thump is unreal but you lose some brightness.

Have you tried the GHS Precision Flats? Brighter than LaBellas but still thumpy.
